About Us
Auckland Craft Collective
After researching what business resources were available to Auckland based crafters and artisans, and finding nothing north of Wellington available nor mention of anything becoming available, the wheels were set in motion. Jess had the idea rattling around for a while but wasn't sure how to turn the concept into a reality, so when Kylie approached her about another idea the Auckland Craft Collective was laid on the table and swiftly picked up and ran out the door.
After refining the concept to what it is today, the Auckland Craft Collective is about providing New Zealands largest city with a valuable business resource to help with all aspects of running a small business with big ideas. Covering everything you would need to run a craft-based business efficiently — we want to support our industry and help other artisans to realise their businesses full potential.
Jessica Whiting
Currently working as a Freelance Graphic Designer in Auckland, Jess is a busy Mum of one while running her craft business, Bam Bam Creative. Having grown up in Auckland and for a short time lived in the UK for 2-3 years while studying Art & Design, she has been back in New Zealand for 9 years. Powered by home baking and far too many cups of tea, Jess can usually be found in her crafting room or in the garden tending to the veges with her little girl.
Kylie Richardson
Kylie made the jump from Australia to New Zealand in late 2006 and driven by her passion for both craft and business, she established her own online beading supplies business. Along with her bead business, Kylie also runs her own craft business, Skipapple, and can be seen at various markets around Auckland on the weekends. When she isn't busy creating, sewing or packaging beads, she can usually be found on Facebook or at Borders with a vanilla latte in hand and her head in books on business or web design.
